Rock Paper Scissors is the world’s foremost dispute-resolving mechanism. The first-known mentions of the “sport” date back to the Han Dynasty in China (206 BC – 220 AD).
New Jersey Lottery is proud to announce that The New Jersey Lottery Rock Paper Scissors Throwdown will return April 10 – 12, 2026.
The tournament is open to adults ages 18+ and takes place over three (3) days (you must be able to attend either Friday or Saturday) AND Sunday days in order to advance through the tournament). It will include 384 competitors and a total of 383 matches. The event will proceed quickly, as two matches will be held simultaneously with “Best 3 out of 5” contests being over in a matter of minutes. The finals will be “Best 4 out of 7.”
Prize money will be paid out to the top twelve (12) finishers, including $10,000 to the winner!
Registration for the 2026 event will open in early February, so check back then for more info.
